Paramount Pictures announced last week that it would be delaying Tom Cruise’s highly anticipated Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, from November 19, 2021, to May 27, Memorial Day weekend 2022.

Unfortunately, the Top Gun: Maverick expansion that is being planned for Microsoft Flight Simulator is being pushed back as well to line up with the film’s new release date. The expansion is now expect to be released on May 27, 2022.

Originally announced in June during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Top Gun: Maverick expansion is a free download that was developed in partnership with Paramount Pictures to celebrate the release of the Top Gun sequel.

Players will be able to take to the skies as Maverick in what appears to be a number of iconic fighter jets and take off from aircraft carriers. It will be available for the PC, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass versions of the game.

Paramount Pictures recently shifted the release date of Top Gun: Maverick to Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2022. As we have previously announced, the Top Gun: Maverick expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator for Windows 10 PC, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass will be released alongside the movie. We look forward to sharing more information in the future.
