The potential prices for GIGABYTE’s upcoming Z690 AORUS MASTER and Z690 AORUS ELITE AX motherboards have been teased by an Australian retailer.

According to listings spotted by momomo_us, the Z690 AORUS MASTER will cost $768.90 AUD, while the Z690 AORUS ELITE AX will cost $439.90 AUD. This translates to around $573 and $327 in USD, respectively.

The implication is that Intel’s new Z690 platform will command only slightly higher premiums despite its support for exciting new technologies such as PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory. GIGABYTE’s Z690 AORUS MASTER predecessor, the Z590 AORUS MASTER, costs $745.80 AUD or $556 USD.

GIGABYTE’s Z690 AORUS MASTER and Z690 AORUS ELITE AX motherboards are the first Z690 motherboards to be listed online. These will complement Intel’s next generation of mainstream desktop processors, the 12th Gen “Alder Lake-S” family. It comprises CPUs that leverage two different types of cores tuned for either performance or efficiency.

We don’t know if these prices include the Australian GST but regardless, having the price similar to existing boards in such a preliminary listing could be great news. This would mean that motherboard manufacturers won’t go crazy with early-adopter pricing for upcoming technologies on these Z690 boards such as DDR5 and PCIe 5.0.
