Warner Bros. has finally given Matrix fans a sneak peek at its highly anticipated fourthquel, The Matrix: Resurrections. It comes courtesy of an updated WhatIsTheMatrix.com site, the official domain that launched alongside the original Matrix film in 1999. The decades-old site has been revamped with red and blue pill options that precede extremely short snippets of teaser footage for The Matrix: Resurrections.

[…] the site lets fans make the same choice Thomas Anderson (not yet Neo) had to make in the original Matrix and will again in The Matrix Resurrections: the blue pill or the red pill. Depending on your choice, the site “will render one of over 180,000 unique teaser videos possible based on the pill chosen and time of day” according to a press release, all of which includes footage from the movie and the voices of its stars.

As noted at the end of each randomized teaser and separate promotional videos, Warner Bros. will release the first trailer for The Matrix: Resurrections in two days on September 9, 2021. The trailer will presumably be the same trailer that CinemaCon attendees got to see in late August.

The Matrix: Resurrections will be released in theaters and HBO Max on December 22. It is the final film in HBO Max’s same-day-premieres initiative, in which subscribers can enjoy Warner Bros.’ biggest films on the very same day they hit cinemas.
