Disney+ has shared an exclusive look at one of its most highly anticipated Star Wars shows, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The clip is only available for subscribers to watch at the moment, but its behind-the-scenes footage and concept art seems to confirm that the Jedi Master will be dueling Darth Vader in another epic lightsaber battle. It was previously assumed that Obi-Wan and Vader did not see each other again following their fight on Mustafar until the events of A New Hope.
“Have another swing at each other, might be quite satisfying for everybody,” teased McGregor, who last played Obi-Wan in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith. “There’s a hunger for this character to come back. The fans have been waiting long enough, ya know?”
“This is a quite a dark time we’re coming into with him, just being a Jedi; it’s not safe,” added director Deborah Chow. “There are Jedi hunters out there.”
Disney has promised that Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available to stream in 2022. Star Wars fans can check out the next series, The Book of Boba Fett, on December 29.
