Disney and Marvel Studios have revealed that they are reviving one of the greatest superhero cartoons of all time. Announced as part of today’s Disney+ Day, X-Men ’97 is a new series coming to streaming service that will explore “new stories in the iconic ’90s timeline” of the original, classic show. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of information beyond that, but Marvel has shared the logo for the show, as well as another image that confirms it’s well aware of a popular Wolverine meme.

From Disney:

  • X-MEN ‘97: an animated series from Marvel Studios that explores new stories in the iconic ‘90s timeline of the original series. Beau DeMayo is executive producer and head writer.

The news can also be found in a press release detailing all of the content coming to Disney’s successful streaming service. Subscribers can look forward to many other Marvel projects, such as Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion, a series based on the fan-favorite comic storyline.
