ZOTAC has unveiled a new family of products with what its marketing department claims is the world’s “blackest paint.” Dubbed Dark Matter, the lineup comprises the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Dark Matter AMP Extreme Holo, ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Dark Matter Twin Edge, and ZOTAC ZBOX Dark Matter MAGNUS ONE, all of which feature an ultra-black matte paint that can absorb up to 99.4 percent of light. The paint is presumably Vantablack.

From ZOTAC’s Dark Matter page:

Dive into the black void created by ZOTAC GAMING for a truly special experience. We present the darkest gaming hardware lineup featuring one of the world’s “blackest paint”. The light absorbing coating transforms our prominent products into the dark matter of the abyss, and it can be yours.

“Dark matter” is known as what most of the universe is made up of, and called so because it does not absorb, reflect or emit light or energy. This spark of an idea gives rise to the ZOTAC GAMING Dark Matter Series, which features a ultra-black matte paint with a stunning visible light absorption rate of up to 99.4% to eliminate all depth and reflection of an object. When their lights are off, they are barely noticeable.

“IT’S LIKE STARING INTO THE VOID OF A BLACK HOLE… AS THE BLACK PAINT ESSENTIALLY ABSORBS ALL THE LIGHT.”

ZOTAC’s GAMING Dark Matter Series is not for sale and will only be available as part of a contest that will run from today to December 22, 2021. The prize pool is limited to one of each product, including 20 special edition t-shirts.
