Sony Pictures has released a new trailer that offers a first look at its upcoming Spider-Verse sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

A follow-up to 2018’s critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse centers once again on Miles Morales’ version of the popular web crawler as he meets up with Spider-Men and Spider-Women from other universes to stop a new evil. The sequel is being helmed by a new team of directors that comprises Joaquim Dos Santos (Voltron: Legendary Defender), Kemp Powers (Soul), and Justin K. Thompson.

Sony’s synopsis for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse:

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) will be released exclusively in movie theaters on October 7, 2022.
