Square Enix has revealed that PS Plus subscribers who previously took advantage of the service’s free Final Fantasy VII Remake promotion will be able to upgrade to the enhanced, PlayStation 5 version of the game this week.

The news was confirmed by Square Enix in a tweet sent out yesterday evening, which noted that the free upgrade would be available starting this Wednesday. Additionally, Episode Intermission—the DLC with Yuffie that was introduced alongside FFVII Remake Intergrade—will be on sale for 25 percent off for a “limited time.”

“Starting this Wednesday, PS Plus subscribers who previously redeemed
@FinalFantasy VII Remake via @PlayStation Plus will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game,” the company tweeted.

“Episode Intermission, the DLC featuring Yuffie Kisaragi, will be 25 percent off for a limited time!”

Square Enix’s FFVII Remake upgrade offer is great news for PS Plus users who own the last-gen version and want to re-experience the RPG with greater visuals on the PS5. Stepping up to the PC version that was recently released on the Epic Games Store is also an option, but FFVII fans might want to hold off on that based on its allegedly awful performance.
