EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING power usage

The EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING burned power in comparison to the Radeon RX 6800 at 295 Watts for the former compared to the latter’s 252 Watts. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING added 13W to its total draw.

Temperature

The ambient room temperature at the time of testing was 22 degrees Celsius.

EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING temperature testing

The EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING settled in at 65.3 degrees Celsius while gaming on our open test bench. That was cooler than the AMD Radeon RX 6800 that leveled out at 70 degrees Celsius. With the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING maxed out on both core clock and fans, it dropped to 58.9 degrees Celsius.

The differences in stock clocks between the cards can be largely academic as each manufacturer chooses a different fan curve to balance cooling performance with noise.

For comparison, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Founders Edition ran at 76c. Therefore the cooling on the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING improves upon the Founder’s Edition temperature by a great deal at 65.3C.
