4K Gaming Performance

Next up, we’ll place all the chips in the middle of the table and see how the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING performs at the 4K resolution. All of the games are running at the highest quality selections available sans Ray Tracing and DLSS which we will look at separately. For each game, we are using the game benchmark included with the game and reporting the average frames per second.

Far Cry 6

In Far Cry 6, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING started the bidding at 62 FPS, trailing the Radeon RX 6800 at 65 FPS. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING yielded an additional 4.8% on the performance front, allowing it to tie the RX 6800 at 65 FPS.

Cyberpunk 2077

In Cyberpunk 2077, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING turned in 23.3 FPS across the manual run-through. This does not represent a good playing experience at all which is consistent with the AMD Radeon RX 6800’s lack of FPS. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING bumped up the FPS to 24 which was not enough to make a difference.

Horizon Zero Dawn

In Horizon Zero Dawn, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING achieved 68 FPS which is a hair over the AMD Radeon RX 6800 at 66 FPS. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING added shaved hair to its performance with 77 FPS.

Red Dead Redemption 2

In Red Dead Redemption 2, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING chalked up 47.6 FPS which was behind the AMD Radeon RX 6800 at 47.9 FPS. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING bumped it up to 50.1 FPS allowing it to take the lead. Based on the performance observed, we would not suggest maxing out image quality on any of these cards at 4K to play Red Dead.

Metro Exodus

In Metro Exodus, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING delivered 44.8 FPS which was above the 43.1 FPS that the AMD Radeon RX 6800 turned in. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING moved it further up the pile at 48 FPS. Regardless, this is not a game you’ll want to play at 4K with any of these cards.

Dirt 5

In Dirt 5, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING achieved 71.5 FPS which is 2.3 FPS slower than the AMD Radeon RX 6800’s 73.8 FPS. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING boosted performance by 6.6% allowing it to defeat the Radeon RX 6800.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

In Ghost Recon: BreakPoint, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING locked in a score of 65 FPS which was 9 FPS slower than the Radeon RX 6800’s efforts. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING provided an extra 6.1% performance, however, the RX 6800 stayed on top.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING flipped through 69 frames per second, allowing itself to be out flipped by the AMD Radeon RX 6800 which provided 72 flips. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING increased its performance to 71 FPS but was still unable to out-flip the competition.
