The fifteenth game that the Epic Games Store is gifting as part of its 15 Days of Free Games promotion, which is near its end, is Salt and Sanctuary, a title developed by Ska Studios and Devoured Studios.

Originally published by the former in 2016, Salt and Sanctuary is a “fast, brutal, and complex” stylized RPG that allows players to find, craft, and upgrade over 600 items (e.g., weapons, armor pieces, spells) in their quest to traverse and overcome the game’s various dungeons, which feature more than 20 bosses. Salt and Sanctuary will be available for free on the Epic Games Store until tomorrow (12/30) at 11:00 a.m. (EST).

“A doomed sailor is shipwrecked on an uncharted island,” reads a game description. “In fog-shrouded valleys, where grinning, mossy corpses cling to rusted arms, shambling figures begin to stir. Beneath crumbling, salt-worn structures, labyrinthine passageways lead to unspeakable evil, long forgotten by man.”

Devoured Studios was created by Ska Studios to create Salt and Sanctuary’s sequel, Salt and Sacrifice. The studios are notable for being just a two-man team comprising James Silva, who founded the studio in 2007, and Shane Lynch, a former Xbox developer.
