Death Stranding Director’s Cut Coming to PC in Spring 2022 with Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) Support

Kojima Productions and 505 Games have confirmed that the director’s cut of Hideo Kojima’s “walking simulator,” Death Stranding, is headed to the PC platform this year.

Death Stranding fans can expect to find the game for purchase on both the Epic Games Store and Steam this spring, according to a press release shared by the publisher. The director’s cut will be one of the first PC games to leverage Intel’s new super sampling technology, XeSS.

DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT is the definitive DEATH STRANDING experience, expanded for PC, and will, for the first time, incorporate Intel’s new Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) graphics technology for an enhanced experience for PC players,” 505 Games confirmed. “XeSS uses machine learning to enable players to explore the unique environment of DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT in high graphical detail along with elevated performance.”

“We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Intel for DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT on PC,” added Neil Ralley, president of 505 Games. “DEATH STRANDING has been a hugely popular game with PC players and we’re excited to see how Intel’s new XeSS technology will enhance player experiences for DIRECTOR’S CUT.”

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is an expanded version of the game that features additional content and added items such as cross-over content from CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 franchise. In addition to higher frame rates, Photo Mode, and support for ultra-wide monitors, all copies of the game will include the following:

The original port is currently available on Steam for $17.99 as part of the Winter Sale, which ends tomorrow.
