LG has shared an assortment of press materials that tease some of its upcoming OLED TVs for 2022 and how they’ve been improved over the previous year’s models.

One of the most exciting ones is a new C2 model that only measures 42 inches, something that PC gamers with limited desk space have long been waiting for. According to the Innovation Awards section of LG’s CES 2022 website and other promotional images, the model number of this TV is 42C2, and it features an evo panel for greater brightness levels.

The evo panel will be present in both G2 and C2 OLED TVs, as LG explains in a press release:

“Featuring LG’s advanced OLED panel, the new G2 series models are in a class of their own. The next level in OLED’s evolution, the OLED evo technology featured in both G2 and select C2 series delivers higher brightness for ultra-realistic images with amazing clarity and detail. Powered by LG’s new α (Alpha) 9 Gen 5 intelligent processor, the company’s Brightness Booster technology enables G2 series TVs to deliver even more brightness through improved heat dissipation and a more advanced algorithm.”

LG goes on to highlight that it will be introducing a new 97-inch model as well. Part of the G2 series, this should be a significant upgrade for enthusiasts who want something larger than 83 inches, which is the biggest size that LG offers in its current OLED lineup.

“LG’s 2022 G2 series introduces a new 83-inch model and the world’s first 97-inch OLED model to complement the 55-, 65- and 77-inch TVs already in the lineup,” LG confirmed. “The LG G2 series delivers a refined design with its attractive flush-to-the-wall Gallery Design.”

“LG’s C2 series offers the most diverse selection of screen sizes with a total of six for 2022: world’s first 42-inch OLED TV, ideal for console and PC gaming, in addition to 48, 55, 65, 77, 83 inches. This OLED TV series features thinner bezels for a more immersive viewing experience in addition to giving the TV a sleeker design.”

LG has shared some more details regarding the 42-inch C2 on its Virtual Studio page, which can be found here with a 3D viewing option. Its key features include a self-lit OLED evo panel, an Alpha 9 Gen5 AI processor, and ThinQ AI.
