WaterTower Music has shared the full theme that will accompany Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’ upcoming take on the iconic DC character, The Batman.

Crafted by Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino, the track lasts nearly seven minutes long and suggests that the film will mostly be a dark and moody affair, with some bits of hopefulness sprinkled here and there. Giacchino had composed the theme even before a single frame of The Batman was shot, according to a recent tweet from the director.

“My brilliant friend @m_giacchino wrote this theme before I ever shot a frame of @TheBatman,” Reeves noted. “I can still remember listening to it in my car with #DylanClark before we went onto the stage to do #RobertPattinson’s screen test. We both had chills.”

It’s unclear when the full soundtrack will be released, but Michael Giacchino’s new Batman theme is also available to listen to now via Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, and the iTunes Store. Giacchino will also be composing the scores to two additional blockbusters slated for release this year, Jurassic World: Dominion and Thor: Love and Thunder.
