NexusMods member Ashok0 has shared an HD texture pack for the PC version of Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake, further improving the visuals of what’s already considered by many as a great-looking game.

Ashok0’s HD texture pack comprises higher-quality 1K to 4K textures taken from Capcom’s other survival horror remake, Resident Evil 3, as well as what appear to be a few custom textures for the convenience store. Resident Evil 2 players can install Ashok0’s HD texture pack by installing Fluffy, a popular mod manager developed by FluffyQuack for modding various Capcom games.

The improvements are pretty obvious in assets with small, fine text, such as the row of hamburgers in the banner shown in the comparison screenshot below.

“You just have to install Fluffy Manager,” Ashok0 explained. “Then install the textures as a regular mod by dragging and dropping the file into Fluffy. Make sure it’s enabled in Fluffy and hit Launch and you should be good to go!”

“It’s a collection of Resident Evil 3 textures,” added Ashok0. “A lot seem to be from just the start, there do seem to be some textures from the police station but I haven’t played thru the game yet to know how much of a difference they make.”
