Today has turned out to be an eventful day for Cyberpunk 2077 fans, as CD PROJEKT RED released a double whammy of news for gamers who haven’t yet given up on its controversial but steadily improving sci-fi RPG.

At the core of today’s announcement is Patch 1.5, a massive update that not only ushers in the next-generation versions of Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S but also includes pages upon pages of updates that improve the game’s gameplay, combat, skill trees, NPC behavior, and more for all platforms. Some of the PC-specific improvements include a new benchmark mode, the inclusion of a Variable Rate Shading (VRS) option, and a fix for a problem relating to Resolution Scaling not working on AMD GPUs when ray tracing is enabled.

Going back to the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077, PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers can expect new features that include ray-traced local shadows, something that was previously added to the PC and Stadia versions of the game, as well as two new graphics modes (Performance and Ray Tracing). The improved visuals have been showcased in a series of new gameplay videos, which can be seen below.
