ASUS had some fun yesterday by teasing a new facial tracking tech called Intelligent Gestures. The fake concept was humorously presented but seemingly real. It featured a gamer navigating menus with facial twitches, eye blinking, and other movements. At one point, the overwhelmed user goes cross-eyed while trying to make a selection.

Intelligent Gestures is part of ROG Smart Lens, a concept with contact lenses, cleaning device, and a tracking camera.

Eventually, ASUS let everyone know that this was an April Fools’ joke.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
