Could custom versions of AMD’s Radeon RX 6900 XT update cost as much as NVIDIA’s new gaming flagship, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti? Quite possibly, if early retailer listings are to be believed. As spotted by leaker @momomo_us, an Australian retailer named MegaBuy has listed the Radeon RX 6950 XT, one of AMD’s upcoming refreshed Radeon RX 6000 Series models, for $3,241.41 AUD, while another, IT Nest, is selling it for $3,320.38 AUD. Both of these prices translate to over $2,400 USD, a number that would make GIGABYTE’s custom Radeon RX 6950 XT model even more expensive than some of the more premium GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards that are available on the market today. The Radeon RX 6900 XT launched with an MSRP of $999.
Both shops have the graphics card listed as the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6900 XT, but the product codes, which initially surfaced on an EEC page that was published earlier this month, can confirm that the listings are for a Radeon RX 6950 XT model, an upgraded version of the RDNA 2 flagship that is expected to feature faster memory (18 Gbps). AMD is reportedly planning on launching the Radeon RX 6950 XT, Radeon RX 6750 XT, and Radeon RX 6650 XT on May 10.
