ResetEra’s Hevvy008, who claims to be a former Bethesda Game Studios employee, has shared some details on Starfield. The now-deleted posts are mostly positive, although the engine might need some work.
It was cool solid place to work, very secure. The engine is a piece of crap tho. Todd is a charismatic guy for sure. Starfield is looking good, weekly Thursday playtest since the beginning of the year, more and more stuff coming online. Shooting feels alright, flying is terrible atm imo just not fun for me. Lighting and stuff is looking better and better, tho it’s not on the level with HFW or anything like that but still a good looking game. In terms of if it will ship on time, welll they will try that’s for sure, they’ll cut what they did to etc, they have an overabundance of content, probably too much, so that’s not the issue, finding the fun and ofcourse bug fixing is the big thing. It’s a sexy date tho, and you only get one of those, beta this summer, that’s when the picture will truly become clear.
Hevvy008 claims that the game will have flyable ships.
I’m not under NDA, i don’t work there anymore. How can you have a space game without flying ships, if a mod wants to verify this info, i think i still have vids of playthroughs.
A GeForce RTX 2080 was used to playtest the game last October, but it ran at a low FPS.
Just quit BGS, so i can say i did play test it last October i think it was, pretty early blockout state and was running at like 15fps…this was on a 2080 but the pieces were there. Felt like an arkane title.
Hevvy008’s employment hasn’t been confirmed. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier says he worked for Bethesda but could not verify his claims.
Can confirm that Hevy008 was legit. Can’t necessarily back up everything they said, but they were definitely who they said they were. Hope the lawyers aren’t going after them.

Leaker SKULLZI has suggested Hevvy008’s claims are not true.
Wanted to update everyone to keep full transparency: @jasonschreier reached out to somebody and seems to have confirmed most of those rumors are not true. Like I said, I can’t confirm anything, I just report on what I hear. But I take Jason’s word seriously.
