DeepCool Gaming Keyboard
DeepCool’s “gaming keyboard” software, which lacks a marketing name for better or worse, is a straightforward affair.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with simple – while DeepCool’s keyboard software appears to only support their two keyboards, every option needed for lighting and macro customization is available.
The lighting pane is accessed by clicking on the lightbulb symbol on the left column. A wealth of lighting options are available alongside a custom lighting function, and the lighting can be toggled off completely.
Setting a single color for the board is quite easy, for those of us that prefer a particular uniform backlight color. For those that want to make hue adjustments, both a color wheel and decimal RGB color inputs are available.
In the settings pane, individual key functions can be reassigned. A soft keyboard is provided to allow for the reassignment of keys from a full 104-key layout.
The performance screen allows for certain key combinations to be disabled when the Windows key is locked, which goes beyond the common ability of just locking out the Windows key itself. The Windows key lock can be quickly toggled on and off through the Fn + Win key combination.
DeepCool’s software provides a robust macro recording and management capability. Macros may be recorded with or without delay and may be edited step by step afterward, and finally assigned to a key or key combination.
Finally, DeepCool has provided the ability to run in a dark mode as seen in the screenshots here, to start with Windows, to close to the tray icon, and to perform an online firmware check.
