The latest rumors suggest the GeForce RTX 4090 could be almost twice as powerful as the GeForce RTX 3090, featuring 16,128 CUDA cores and a TDP of 450 watts. By comparison, the GeForce RTX 3090 FE features 10,496 CUDA cores and a TDP of 350 watts.

The GeForce RTX 4090 is said to have some streaming multiprocessors disabled, indicating the future release of a more powerful card, such as the GeForce RTX 4090 Ti. The lower SM count could also explain the 450 W vs. rumored 600 W TDP.

The launch date has also been narrowed to mid-July. This follows yesterday’s leak about an early Q3 2022 launch timeframe.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
