Following up on yesterday’s brief teaser, IGN has now shared a full-length gameplay trailer for Sonic Frontiers, giving fans a seven-minute look at what awaits them in the speedy hedgehog’s first open-world adventure. The footage is available to watch in 4K and provides an extended glimpse at what is presumably the game’s leading location and its far-ranging vistas, as well as all of the usual elements of a Sonic game that include trails of rings waiting to be collected, tracks that allow the blue blur to get around the environment in the blink of an eye, and various puzzle elements. Sonic Frontiers is racing toward a release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC later this year.

Sonic Frontiers is the iconic franchise’s first ever open-zone-inspired gaming experience, bringing Sonic fans an all-new type of Sonic rush. In the dangerous and vast world of Sonic Frontiers, anything is possible, and players will have the freedom to explore the visually stunning, open-zone realm.
