Netflix had a handful of exciting announcements to make during today’s final Geeked Week stream, particularly for those who have grown fond of the streamer’s animated features based on some of today’s hottest video game properties. Among the shows that subscribers will be able to look forward to in the future include Dragon Age: Absolution, a new animated series based on BioWare’s fantasy RPG franchise that is expected to welcome its fourth installment next year, and Castlevania: Nocturne, a spin-off of Netflix’s existing series that follows fan-favorite vampire hunter Richter Belmont. It is centered around Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the classic, Metroid-inspired installment that released for PlayStation in 1997. Other announcements shared during the final day of Geeked Week include The Cuphead Show! and DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, both of which were popular enough to get new seasons. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has also received its first teaser trailer.

Dragon Age: Absolution

Dragon Age: Absolution is coming in December 2022. We can’t reveal much yet, but a teaser dropped during Geeked Week gives us a glimpse into the show.

The clip opens with a shot of two kingdoms: one nestled at the base of a mountain, and a second built on the top of a cliff. At the center of the plot is a golden ring in the shape of a dragon. (Sharp-eyed viewers will see the ring in the logo at the end of the clip as well.)

There’s a group of heroes, composed of human, elven and Qunari warriors, who use their prowess with swords and magical spells to battle dark forces. Judging by all the action packed into a 50-second clip, there’ll be lots of epic battles in the series.

Castlevania: Nocturne

Years after the events of Castlevania, Richter takes up the mantle of vampire hunter in this story, centered on the franchise’s most beloved iteration, Symphony of the Night. The character originated in one of the most popular Castlevania games, Rondo of Blood.

Based on the classic Japanese video game series of the same name, Castlevania follows vampire hunter Trevor Belmont as he fights to save a besieged city from an army of otherworldly beasts controlled by Dracula himself. You can watch all four of its seasons now.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will introduce a new protagonist, a street kid making his way through a fraught urban environment plagued by techno warfare and body modification. In order to survive, he joins a crew of mercenaries — the edgerunners, otherwise known as cyberpunks. The trailer gives us a brief, tantalizing glimpse at the show’s neon-drenched setting and just a bit of its high-octane action, including what looks like a very Matrix Reloaded bike chase.
