Nacon Studio Milan has announced that it is developing a new Terminator game, one that’s being billed as the first survival game set in the post-apocalyptic world introduced at the beginning of James Cameron’s 1984 blockbuster, The Terminator.

Details regarding the project are sparse, but Nacon can confirm that its new Terminator game will be an open-world title, one that will place players into the boots of nuclear apocalypse survivors who must fight to stay alive “in a time period between Judgment Day and the creation of John Connor’s resistance.”

The game will also feature “an original story that builds on the events of the official films,” opening up the possibility of potential cameos from characters such as Kyle Reese, the father of John Connor, who was played by Michael Biehn in the original movie.

A reveal trailer that Nacon Studio Milan released for its untitled Terminator project can confirm the appearance of the classic T-800 endoskeleton, which has been popularized by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character but received some design changes in later films.

As revealed during Nacon Connect, we’re thrilled to announce that our next big project will be set in the world of Terminator, one of the world’s most popular and iconic film franchises.

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world and features an original story that builds on the events of the official films. You play as a group of nuclear apocalypse survivors fighting to stay alive in a time period between Judgment Day and the creation of John Connor’s resistance.
