ASRock to Enter Gaming Monitor Market with AMD FreeSync Premium Models

ASRock is getting into the gaming monitor business.

Listings spotted by @momomo_us has seemingly confirmed that ASRock is planning to announce at least two monitors, the PG34WQ15R and PG27FF. The PG34WQ15R is a 34-inch gaming monitor with a 3440×1440 VA panel, while the latter is a 27-inch gaming monitor with a 1080p IPS panel.

Both monitors will support AMD FreeSync Premium technology for reducing or eliminating screen tearing and stuttering for a smoother gaminng experience.

AMD’s FreeSync Premium certification calls for “at least 120 Hz at minimum FHD resolution,” support for low framerate compensation (LFC), and low latency.

ASRock’s biggest competitors already have numerous gaming monitors on offer. They include MSI, ASUS, and GIGABYTE, whose current models include the AORUS FO48U, a gaming monitor that leverages a 48-inch OLED panel. That technology enables a contrast ratio of 135000:1.

ASRock only offers motherboards, graphics cards, networking products, mini PCs, industrial PCs, and server/workstation parts at the moment, according to the company’s website header.
