Ryan Gosling could be the next Ghost Rider.

Speaking with Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, MTV’s Josh Horowitz brought up the claim that the 41-year-old actor had told him that he was interested in playing the stunt motorcyclist and supernatural superhero, Johnny Blaze.

While it’s unclear how serious Gosling really is about entering the MCU, Feige responded very positively and suggested that he would be onboard with the idea.

“Ryan’s amazing,” Feige told Horowitz. “I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU.”

Feige goes on to point out Gosling’s popularity, bringing up the amount of coverage that the actor has been receiving for his upcoming role as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie. Gosling will star opposite of Margot Robbie, who plays the iconic fashion doll.

“He’s dressed up as Ken on Venice Beach [and] he gets more press than giant movies coming out that weekend,” noted Feige. “It’s amazing.”

Nicholas Cage played Ghost Rider in both of the live-action films, Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The character has also been portrayed by Gabriel Luna in various episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Gosling can most recently be seen in The Gray Man, an action thriller directed by the Russo brothers (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame). It is one of Netflix’s most expensive films ever, with a production budget of $200 million.

The Gray Man also stars Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Billy Bob Thornton.
