Owners of select LG Smart TVs can now trial one of the world’s leading cloud gaming services for an extended period of time at no cost.

LG has partnered with Google to offer three months of Stadia Pro for select LG TVs as part of a new time-limited promotion, the company announced today. Any LG TV that operates webOS 5.0 or higher in the 22 countries where Stadia is currently available (i.e., United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary) is eligible for the offer.

A complete list of eligible LG TVs, including 2022, 2021, and 2020 OLED models, can be found here. LG has also detailed what users can expect out of the service.

LG TV owners who claim their free Stadia Pro subscription gain instant access to more than fifty games, with new titles added every month and unique discounts on games and add-on content regularly offered. And with Stadia Pro enabling up to 4K HDR graphics, 60 FPS gameplay and immersive 5.1 surround sound, LG Smart TVs are the perfect choice for avid players seeking the ultimate gaming experience without purchasing an expensive console or gaming PC.

The Stadia store also features over 250 popular games available to buy, including Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Hitman 3, Baldur’s Gate 3 as well as access to a growing list of free games and demos, all playable with just a compatible controller, no game downloads or installs required.

LG Smart TV owners can claim the offer by heading to the LG Content Store and clicking on the Stadia Pro offer, after which they’ll have to “scan a QR Code to begin the redemption process on their phone, using their unique code.”

LG has clarified that this offer is only available to new Stadia Pro subscribers. Users will also need a valid form of payment in order to sign up for the promotion, but they will not be charged during the first three months and can cancel at any time.

The offer begins today and will run until January 31, 2023.

  1. Odds Stadia gets canceled outright by Google prior to completion of 3 month trial?
There's really not a day that goes by that I don't expect to come across an announcement for that. I honestly have nothing against it but it seems like NV/MS/Sony have conquered this sector.

Sad because of google I mean Alphabet just took a freaking look at why GOOGLE was successful they could do this.

    1. No bullshit on the front page. You get a search box with an I feel Lucky box.
    a. Just simplify the interface. "Games I have, Games I want, and games recommended. Give short links with hover for context descriptions. Click to play.
    2. FAST results.
    a. Load the game quickly and get to gaming. Simplify everything else. Sense a controller or ask for KB+M that's it. Sound is default device.. Resolution is virtual so scalable to window, done and done.

By making things MORE complicated they have moved away from what made google successful in the first place to end users. Everything else is metadata.
