The Seasonic Vertex 80+ Gold and Platinum Vertex series of ATX 3.0 power supplies has been spotted at multiple retailers. The new Vertex series features a 16-pin 12VHPWR PCIe connector and is offered in 1000 W and 1200 W variants. Prices vary depending on the outlet but start at $231.23 for the Seasonic PS VERTEX 1000G and top at $338.66 for the PS VERTEX 1200P. Retailer descriptions are not consistent but it appears that all could be fully modular.

  • PS Vertex 1000G: 80+ Gold 1000 Watt
  • PS Vertex 1200G: 80+ Gold 1200 Watt
  • PS Vertex 1000P: 80+ Platinum 1000 Watt

At 1000 W and 1200 W these Seasonic Vertex 80+ Gold and Platinum Vertex series PSUs would be the perfect solution for the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series flagship graphics cards along with top-tier CPU offerings from Intel and AMD. With ATX 3.0 and PCI Gen5 support, they are clearly aimed at next-gen computer components.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
