Avatar: The Way of Water Gets a Spectacular Full-Length Trailer Ahead of December 16 Release

Disney and 20th Century Studios have dropped the first full-length trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water, offering a two-minute glimpse at the quality of CG that cinemagoers can expect ahead of the film’s highly anticipated release this December. Directed by James Cameron, the sequel takes place more than a decade after the original and will reintroduce audiences to Jake (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), and other key characters as they adventure through new aquatic environments against foes that appear to include a revived Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang). Avatar: The Way of Water is slated for release exclusively in theaters on December 16, 2022.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment Production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet.
