Lucasfilm has revealed the cast of Star Wars: The Acolyte, its upcoming Star Wars Original series from creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland (Russian Doll). Described as a “mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era,” the show will be headlined by some recognizable faces, including Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game), Dafne Keen (Logan), and Carrie-Anne Moss, who returned to play Trinity last year opposite Keanu Reeves in The Matrix Resurrections. The Acolyte hasn’t been dated by Lucasfilm yet, but it will be available to watch exclusively on Disney+.

From the official Star Wars blog:

Today, Disney+ announced the cast for The Acolyte, an upcoming Star Wars Original series from Lucasfilm. Joining the previously announced Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) are Emmy Award-winner Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).

The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

Looks like a very ... uhmm ... diverse cast.

I'm betting TWO of the cast play a race that isn't sexy in some way to some gender or another.

Moss is the only name I recognize in there, and no idea what Russian Doll is, and it's Yet-Another-Star Wars-Title-Just-For-Disney+, so...

My anticipation level is pretty low.

It's a Netflix show a bit like groundhog day (first season) 2nd is different but also nice, I quite liked it, but it's a bit out there.
