Netflix is interested in developing a brand-new AAA PC game, according to a new job listing that can be found on the streamer’s official site that is seeking for a new and qualified game director to join its Los Angeles-based games studio.

Per Netflix:

We’re looking for a creative and highly-skilled Game Director to help us forge the game direction and creative vision on a brand-new AAA PC game. As Game Director, you will be the creative leader of one of Netflix’s first generation of internally developed original games. You will provide the vision and direction for the game from the concept phase, through production, launch, and live operations. The right candidate will bring industry-leading craft expertise and attention to detail to generate the vision for a game that is high quality, emotionally resonant, iconic, and full of heart. Creating a great game that players want to come back to repeatedly is our primary goal – you will be able to create, ship and run a game without any competing design constraints due to monetization.

The ideal candidate for this position will require at least 10 years of game design experience, including experience as a Creative Director, Game Director, or comparable design leadership role, and can expect to be charged with a range of responsibilities that include developing, championing, and continuously improve and iterating on the core creative vision for the game.

Experience with FPS and/or third-person shooter games is preferred.

They will also be responsible for developing world/characters/narratives that are worthy of a Netflix film/TV series, although it’s unclear whether Netflix’s first PC game will be linked to one of its existing shows.

Netflix confirmed in October that it would be expanding into cloud gaming. Its new California studio is led by Chacko Sonny, the former executive producer on Blizzard’s Overwatch.
