Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a definitive release in the form of a Game of the Year Edition, according to CD PROJEKT president and joint-CEO Adam Kiciński, who spoke at a recent investor meeting in Warsaw and revealed his company’s plans for a new version of the sci-fi RPG:

“It’s the natural order of things,” Kiciński said, as transcribed by Stockwatch.pl. “It was the same with the Witcher, which, after both expansions, was finally released as a Game of the Year edition and has been on the market that way every since. The same can be expected in this case.”

Kiciński goes on to confirm that Cyberpunk 2077: Game of the Year Edition will include the game’s upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty:

“The target version of ‘Game of the Year; ‘CP2077’ will be just after the update and including the new addition,” he said. “This version will be available at ‘full’ price. What else can you expect here.”

Announced on September 6, 2022, Phantom Liberty is Cyberpunk 2077’s first and only planned expansion, featuring a spy-thriller story set in an all-new district of Night City.

CD PROJEKT RED previously confirmed that Phantom Liberty will be released in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.

Cyberpunk 2077 received a major update in the form of the Edgerunners Update on September 6, which brought various gameplay fixes and improvements, free DLCs, as well as content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the new anime now available to watch via Netflix.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 9, 2020.
