Horizon Forbidden West is getting an expansion called “Burning Shores” next year, according to a new report from Insider Gaming that was prompted by what is believed to be a teaser for the region that players can expect to explore in the upcoming DLC from popular leaker “The Snitch”:

On Twitter, The Snitch posted an image of San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. The image is seemingly a nod to the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC taking place in these locations.

Insider Gaming goes on to claim that Burning Shores will be released in April 2023, noting that the region has already been mentioned a couple of times in Horizon Forbidden West, described as a “place of flames and brine” by some characters.

“Players who attempt to explore further south are currently told to ‘turn back’ as it’s likely this is the new location for the DLC,” Insider Gaming wrote. “Some players have managed to get a closer look using their Sunwing, which looks like there’s a replica of the arched Memorial Bridge near Las Vegas, Nevada; as well as potentially the Hoover Dam.”

An expansion for Horizon Forbidden West comes as little surprise, as the original installment, 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, received something similar in the form of The Frozen Wilds, which came out that same year in November.

Horizon Call of the Mountain, a VR game set in the world of Horizon, will be released for the PlayStation VR2 in February 2023.
