Press Release

ASRock, the leading global motherboard, graphics card, and mini PC manufacturer, today launched the new AQUA, Taichi, and Phantom Gaming series graphics cards based on AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 Series GPUs.

The new graphics cards are built on the groundbreaking AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture with chiplet technology. AMD RDNA 3 architecture delivers up to 54% more performance per watt than AMD RDNA 2, features the world’s fastest interconnect linking the graphics and memory system chiplets at up to 5.3 TB/s, and offers up to 96 new unified compute units and second-generation AMD Infinity Cache™ technology. It also delivers increased AI throughput that provides up to 2.7X higher AI performance, and rearchitected compute units with second-generation raytracing technology that provides up to 1.8X higher raytracing architectural performance in select titles versus AMD RDNA 2 architecture .

The new ASRock Radeon™ RX 7900 Series graphics cards are equipped with up to 24GB of GDDR6 memory and blazing-fast clock speeds that deliver incredible performance while maximizing graphical fidelity. The AMD Radiance Display™ Engine provides 12 bit-per-channel color for up to 68 billion colors for incredible color accuracy. With support for DisplayPort™ 2.1 technology running at UHBR 13.5, the new graphics cards offer up to 54Gbps of display link bandwidth and enable high-refresh 4K (up to 480Hz) or 8K (up to 165Hz) gaming on next-gen displays.

In addition, ASRock Radeon™ RX 7900 Series graphics cards support various ASRock exclusive features such as the Striped Ring Fan, the Ultra-fit Heatpipe, a metal frame, a metal backplate, and Polychrome SYNC technology to provide great cooling efficiency, solid construction, and fancy ARGB light effects. With these premium specifications and exclusive features, ASRock Radeon RX 7900 Series graphics cards are outstanding choices for gamers and creators.

RX 7900 XTX AQUA 24GB OC

The RX 7900 XTX AQUA 24GB OC is ASRock’s first liquid-cooled graphics card. It features a 22-power phase design, and clock speeds of 2680 MHz (boost)or 2510 MHz (game). The 24GB GDDR6 memory is clocked at 20 Gbps on a 384-bit bus. A 1000W PSU is recommended. Although not stated, it appears to be a 2-slot card.

The brand-new flagship ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX AQUA 24GB OC graphics card is ASRock’s first liquid-cooling graphics card, using the AQUA Liquid Cooling System with the high purity nickel-plated copper plate and Jet Microchannel Engine. The transparent and stylish water block provides effective heat dissipation, and the 0.3mm jet microchannel enhances the water flow and speeds heat dissipation. Also, the stylish acrylic backplate combines acrylic and aluminum to make the graphics card more elegant. The built-in ARGB LEDs can synchronize lighting effects with ASRock motherboards that support Polychrome SYNC, allowing users to customize the lighting system.

ASRock Radeon RX 7900 Taichi Series Graphics Cards

The Taichi series feature a triple fan cooling solution comprised of 110/100/110 mm fans, and are 3-slots wide. A metal backplate is included for additional support. Their dual BIOS enables options for quiet or performance modes. Spec-wise, the RX7900XTX TC 24GO is identical to the AQUA, just air-cooled instead of liquid, and also recommends a 1000W PSU. The RX7900XT TC 20GO has clock speeds of 2560 MHz (boost) and 2220 MHz (game), 20 GB GDDR6 at 20 Gbps on a 320-bit bus, uses a 20-power phase design and an 800W PSU is recommended.

ASRock Radeon RX 7900 Phantom Gaming Series Graphics Cards

Lastly are the Phantom Gaming Series graphics cards which are 2.8 slots wide and with 100/100/100mm fans. They also include a backplate for PCB support. Clock speeds for the RX7900XTX PG 24GO are lowered to 2615 MHz (boost) and 2455 MHz (game) while memory speeds remain the same at 20 Gbps as does the 1000W recommended PSU. Similarly, the RX7900XT PG 20GO clock speeds are reduced to 2450 MHz (boost) and 2075 MHz (game) with 20 Gbps memory but the PSU recommendation is lowered to 750W.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
