Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available to play next year, according to a new post from the PlayStation Blog team that discusses the biggest highlights for PlayStation in 2023, including Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man sequel, which is slated for release in fall 2023.

“Speaking of Marvel’s Spider Man 2, let’s kick things off with some exciting news from developer Insomniac Games confirming the release window for the web-slinging sequel,” a portion of the post reads. “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on PS5 in fall 2023.”

“Following the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the Spider-duo of Peter Parker and Miles Morales are back in the next blockbuster action chapter of the Marvel’s Spider-Man series. Much is still to be revealed about the game, and going off the quality of the past two titles, we’re bound to be in for a fantastic new original Spider-Man adventure.”

Bryan Intihar, Creative Director at Insomniac, also shared the following message with fans:

What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers. Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022… and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall.

Insomniac revealed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on September 9, 2021, sharing a trailer and write-up for the game that teases its new villains, including Venom, who will be voiced by Tony Todd of Candyman fame.

That announcement was complemented by a separate reveal for Marvel’s Wolverine, another superhero game that Insomniac is working on, based on the leading X-Men character with “emotional narrative and cutting-edge gameplay.”

Marvel’s Spider-Man was initially released for the PlayStation 4 on September 7, 2018, but the game did not make it to PC until August this year.
