ASUS is planning to unveil its latest collaboration with Noctua very soon, according to nApoleon, the chief editor of Chiphell, who has claimed in a new thread dated December 21 that GeForce RTX 40 Series Noctua Edition graphics cards will appear at CES 2023.

It’s unclear whether this will be a GeForce RTX 4080 or GeForce RTX 4090 model, or possibly even both, but ASUS and Noctua announced their ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition graphics card in May 2022, a custom GeForce RTX 3080 option that features two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans and a tailored heatsink, a combination that enables it to run cooler than other cards in its class, according to the companies.

“At typical auto-speed fan settings, the Noctua Edition runs 4.5 dB(A) quieter while achieving 3°C lower GPU temperatures and 14°C lower VRAM temperatures,” Noctua explained in its announcement. “When running the fans at their maximum speed, like it might be required in worst-case situations such as when fully stressing the card in poorly ventilated cases or with very high ambient temperatures, the reduction in noise levels is 8.6 dB(A) and the memory still runs 12°C cooler.”

Preceding that was the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition, another collaborative effort that was announced by ASUS and Noctua in October 2021, featuring similar benefits that include lower noise levels and a semi-passive fan control setup that can switch the fans off completely whenever the GPU temperature goes below 50°C.

“Customers have been asking us to create GPU cooling solutions for quite some time, so we’re excited and honoured to team up with ASUS in order to make this happen. Using our NF-A12x25 fans and fine-tuning the heatsink for use with them, we’ve managed to achieve a significant boost in performance-to-noise efficiency,” Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO) said in regard to the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition. “ASUS’ GeForce RTX 3070 was certainly an outstanding card already, but we’re confident that the further improved cooling solution of the Noctua Edition will be the cherry on top for noise-conscious customers.”

The ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition launched at $950, while the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition launched at $750.

CES 2023 will run from January 5–8, 2023.
