Updated Atomic Heart PC requirements have been published ahead of its February 21 release for PC and consoles. Game Director Robert Bagratuni also recently said in an interview with Wccftech that the game will include the option for shader compilation before entering the game and clarified about PC requirements for that feature. The updated Atomic Heart PC requirements now include target resolutions and framerates from a minimum of 1080p/30 FPS up to Ultra 4K/60 FPS. The developer has added that “specified everywhere in the table FPS is the minimum one that the players will get during fierce battles in the most crowded locations.

Robert also said that “In fact, in most locations and game situations, the FPS will be much higher. For example, with the GeForce GTX 1650 graphical card, the players will get a minimum of 60FPS, while a maximum indicator in most locations will be 100FPS.”

Shader Compilation

In-game stuttering has become a notorious issue with many releases in recent years and gamers have been quick to point it out when a game launches stutter fest state. Motive Studio’s Dead Space Remake is an example of a game to launch with the option of shader compilation before the game begins. Players do have the option of skipping shader compilation but additional in-game stuttering should be expected if it is skipped. Although shader compilation may not completely eliminate all such issues it should at least minimize them. The game director further specified GPU VRAM requirements for using the feature.

“As for memory, you can play with 8GB RAM if you disable the shaders optimization option in the settings. In that case, you might have stutters when entering a new location. But if you want to play without stutters, you need to have at least 12GB of memory to be able to precache PSO for faster runtime-shaders compilation.”

Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
