ASUS TUF GAMING B760M-BTF WIFI D4 Motherboard Features Rear Connectors

The front of a motherboard is usually where most of the action takes place, but ASUS is changing that up a bit with the B760M-BTF WIFI D4, a new TUF GAMING motherboard for 12th and 13th Gen Intel Core processors that offers a range of expected features, but not in the locations that users would normally expect. As detailed in a product update on ASUS’ official website, this is a unique motherboard from the manufacturer that relocates various headers and connectors, including Thunderbolt, USB, and M.2, to the rear of the board, a design choice that is said to enable easier setup, including optimized cable management. ASUS has warned that this motherboard is only compatible with specific case models, however.

From an ASUS product description:

The TUF GAMING B760M-BTF WIFI D4 takes all the essential elements of the latest Intel processors and combines them with game-ready features and proven durability. “BTF” means “Back To (the) Future” for a new era for all PC DIY gamers; the BTF series hides all its connectors on the underside of the motherboard for clean cable management and a minimalist build appearance.

This motherboard is engineered with military-grade components, an upgraded power solution and a comprehensive cooling system so that it can go beyond expectations with rock-solid performance and marathon gaming.

Is it April 1 already? Why have these connectors on the back?

MSI did one in conjunction with a special case last year if memory serves.

I've always wondered why the 24 pin and CPU power connectors were not on the back of the motherboard. Never made sense to me to feed those cables from behind the mobo just to loop them and plug in on the front of the mobo. It's also nice to see some other connectors on the back as well. Can make for a really clean build.
