RDNA 3 may be the new hotness from where red team is sitting, but GIGABYTE hasn’t forgotten about AMD’s older but still apparently relevant graphics microarchitecture. According to a series of images that have leaked online, the leading manufacturer of premium gaming hardware is planning to release another Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card under its GAMING series, one that features a bigger, better cooler, alluding to what could be vastly improved thermal performance than what the current GAMING models have to offer. The “new” cooler is said to be the same one that GIGABYTE employed for the Radeon RX 6950 XT, one of its flagship RDNA 2 options.

From a VideoCardz report:

What we can immediately see is that the PRO model is much bigger than the original version, now measuring at least 33 cm (from 28.6 cm).

A quick check confirms our suspicions, this RX 6800 XT card is using the same cooler as the RX 6950XT Gaming card, the flagship air-cooled RDNA2 desktop model from Gigabyte. This means that non-standard display connector layout with a pair of HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a. Furthermore, instead of dual 8-pin power connectors, users of Gaming OC PRO will find three.

The specifications of RX 6800 XT GAMING PRO are not yet fully confirmed, but one should expect an even higher clock than 2285 MHz as featured on the original RX 6800 GAMING card.
