Kadokawa has released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Death Island that can confirm five of the franchise’s most popular characters—Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers—will team up for the first time in the series’ extensive history. Capcom has never featured all of these characters simultaneously in any of its mainline games, and while Resident Evil 6 came slightly closer with its extensive cast, which included Leon and Chris duking it out in Hong Kong, Resident Evil: Death Island may finally prove who the better B.O.W. killer is. Resident Evil: Death Island will take the team to Alcatraz Island, according to a synopsis for the animated film that is set for release in Japan on July 7.

From an IGN description:

D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.
