A Metal Gear fan has dug into the code for Konami’s new METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 1 website and reported on some rather convincing evidence that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, a Hideo Kojima game that remains exclusive to the PlayStation 3, will finally reach other platforms, including PC. Nitroid, who discovered placeholder buttons for not only MGS4, but also Peace Walker and MGS5, clarified that what he found isn’t conclusive of anything, but according to a follow-up report from IGN, these are, in fact, the games that will be found in METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2. METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 1 is coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on October 24, and Vol. 2 will almost assuredly be released on those same platforms, if not more.

From an IGN report:

IGN understands this lineup for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is accurate and has asked Konami for comment.

While the entire collection will no doubt excite Metal Gear fans, it’s the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid 4 that’s of most interest. Kojima Productions’ 2008 action-adventure stealth video game has been shackled to the PlayStation 3 since launch, and with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. expected to launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch, an army of newcomers are set to experience Guns of the Patriots for the first time.
