Atomic Heart, the single-player, Russian first-person shooter developed by Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment and 4Divinity, is set to release its first DLC titled Annihilation Instinct on August 2, 2023. The game was originally released on February 21, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and has since garnered positive reviews and a dedicated fan base.

The Annihilation Instinct DLC will be available on all supported platforms and is included in the game’s $39.99 / £32.99 Atomic Pass, which can also be found as part of Atomic Heart’s Gold and Premium Editions. This expansion pack promises to bring new content to the game, including a new area, new weapons, new enemies, and a new glove ability.

The story of Annihilation Instinct picks up after the climax of the original game, delving deeper into the dystopian world and uncovering what happened after the main storyline. Players will explore the mind-bending Mendeleev Complex and its surrounding swamps, discovering the truth about NORA as Major P-3 is pulled back into Facility 3826. The DLC also introduces vicious, shape-shifting new enemies that players must defeat using two new weapons: the ranged Secateur and the melee Klusha, as well as the glove’s new Techno-Stasis ability, which allows for the manipulation of time itself.

In addition to the new content, Mundfish has released a free update for Atomic Heart that adds New Game+, a more challenging game mode designed to test players’ skills and enhance their experience. This mode features stronger enemies with new abilities, such as immunity to certain player attacks or new attack effects against the player.
