Gameplay Performance
We are going to focus on 1080p gameplay performance with the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 OC Edition video card. We will include DLSS and FSR performance on the same graph in the games that are supported. We will use DLSS on NVIDIA GPUs and FSR on AMD GPUs. Ray Tracing performance will be shown on a separate page. For video card comparisons we are using an EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB XC Black Gaming video card and an AMD Radeon RX 7600 video card and an Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition video card.
Returnal
Returnal was launched on the PC in February of 2023 and is based on Unreal Engine 4. The game supports real-time ray tracing effects, particle systems, and volumetric rendering. We utilize the graphics preset to set EPIC graphics settings with unlocked framerate, and everything is enabled except ray tracing, we have screen-space reflections on. We use the built-in benchmark.

In Returnal, we are playing at 1080p with EPIC graphics settings on the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 OC Edition video card. We see that these settings are more than playable, delivering 85FPS and a playable gameplay experience well over 60. Compared to the previous generation GeForce RTX 3060 12GB the new ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is 23% faster. We also find the new ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is 6% faster than the new AMD Radeon RX 7600. It’s a small margin, but it is there. When we overclock the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC we get a 9% performance increase that takes us past 90FPS at EPIC game settings. We also see a good deal of performance from DLSS, taking us over 100FPS on the best quality mode. Compared to Intel Arc A750, the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is 25% faster.
Forspoken
Forspoken was released on January 24th, 2023, on the PC and uses the Luminous Engine. The game supports all upscaling methods and Ray Tracing. We are going to customize the settings and enable the highest graphics settings, including Ultra High Texture Memory. We use the built-in benchmark.

While Returnal was straightforward, in Forspoken we have some rather interesting results. First was the fact that the Radeon RX 7600 performed so poorly, and then the fact that the Intel Arc A750 outperformed the Radeon RX 7600 by 8% in this game. The other fact is that the uplift of the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC from the last generation GeForce RTX 3060 12GB is more narrow in this game. The ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is only 10% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB video card, which isn’t very appealing. Does VRAM capacity affect this game more? It is possible.
At any rate, the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is playable at 66FPS at these settings, and on this graph is the most playable video card. Compared to the Radeon RX 7600 it is 32% faster and compared to Intel Arc A750 it is 22% faster. When we overclock the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC Edition performance increases by 9% and we can reach 70FPS. You can also utilize upscaling DLSS and hit even higher framerates well above 80FPS. The Radeon RX 7600 is only playable if you use FSR.
The Callisto Protocol
The Callisto Protocol was released in December of 2022 on the PC and is based on Unreal Engine 4. We run the game in DX12 mode with unlimited framerate, and all graphics settings enabled and at the highest graphics settings. This game supports ray tracing, and FSR upscaling only, we use FSR2 for testing. We use the built-in benchmark.

In The Callisto Protocol, we are running the game at the highest settings and the new ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC video card is very playable at 78FPS. We see another game that has an interesting result here with the Intel Arc A750 outperforming the AMD Radeon RX 7600 by 14%. The Radeon RX 7600 seems to be about on par with the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB in performance in this game.
The new ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 OC Edition is 29% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB, which is a very commendable uplift from the previous generation. The ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is 25% faster than the Radeon RX 7600, which is also a very nice uplift. It is also 10% faster than the Intel Arc A750, which is really climbing up there. When we overclock the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC performance increases by 9% and takes us to 85FPS.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II was released on October 27, 2022, on the PC and uses the IW 9.0 gaming engine. The game supports all upscaling methods, and we use the highest quality option of each. We customize every graphics setting to the maximum value for the best image quality and enable everything. We use the built-in benchmark.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II shows things in a completely different light. In this game, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 comes out on top and is 16% faster than the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC video card at 1080p. That said, the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is of course very playable at 91FPS. Compared to the previous generation, the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is 23% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB and 34% faster than Intel Arc A750. Overclocking the video card improves performance by 8% and brings performance to nearly 100FPS. However, the Radeon RX 7600 is still faster by 8%.
Chernobylite Enhanced Edition
Chernobylite, based on Unreal Engine 4, was released on the PC in 2021, but the Enhanced Edition update for the game was released in April 2022. The Enhanced Edition provides a visual overhaul of the game with better textures, plus introduces tessellation and ray tracing features. It features raytraced reflections, raytraced translucency, raytraced caustics, and raytraced dynamic diffuse global illumination. It supports upscaling, and we use the highest quality. We use the built-in benchmark.

In Chernobylite Enhanced Edition we have yet another shocking result, which shows that Intel Arc A750 is ahead of the Radeon RX 7600, and the Radeon RX 7600 is actually on the bottom of performance here. Firstly, the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 OC Edition is very playable at 121FPS, and we find that it provides a healthy 27% performance uplift from the previous generation GeForce RTX 3060 12GB video card. The ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is 28% faster than the Radeon RX 7600, which is mindblowing how much better it is here. Another mindblower is learning that Intel Arc A750 is 14% faster than the new AMD Radeon RX 7600. When we overclock the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC we find that it improves performance by 8%.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 was released in February 2022 on the PC and uses Techland’s C-Engine. The game supports Ray Tracing, DLSS, and FSR2. We use the built-in preset to set “HIGH QUALITY” which sets the highest game graphics, without Ray Tracing. We manually enable DX12 and ASYNC Compute. We use the built-in benchmark.

Now we are back to the AMD Radeon RX 7600 competing really well in Dying Light 2. At 1080p and the highest settings the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC allows a very playable gameplay experience at 106FPS. Compared to the previous generation the new ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC is 15% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB. This is one of the games where it is on the more narrow side of providing an uplift from the previous generation. In this game though, the Radeon RX 7600 outperforms the RTX 4060 by 1%, practically they are the same performance. Intel Arc A750 also does really well here, it outperforms the RTX 3060 and comes close to the RTX 4060 performance. Overclocking the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC improves performance by 9% and now the video card is 8% faster than the Radeon RX 7600.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020 and uses the REDengine 4. We have the game patched to version 1.62 and utilize the built-in benchmark. We test using the Graphics Preset option to set graphics settings to “Ultra”. We utilize the highest quality upscaling.

In Cyberpunk 2077, running at “Ultra” game settings, the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 OC Edition allows a playable game experience at 81FPS, there are no problems enjoying the game at these settings. Interestingly, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 outperforms the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC by 6%. Compared to the previous generation, the new RTX 4060 is 12% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB video card. This is another game where the uplift from the previous generation is more narrow. We also find Intel Arc A750 performs very well here, and is very close to RTX 4060 performance. The gameplay experience is the same between the GeForce RTX 4060 and Intel Arc A750 in this game. You do get better performance and image quality with DLSS, however. Overclocking the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 OC improves performance by 7% and brings it up to the same performance as the Radeon RX 7600.
