AMD is planning to release a special version of the Radeon RX 7900 XT called the “Golden Rabbit Edition” exclusively in China, IT Home has reported. This RDNA 3 graphics card will supposedly be cheaper but only feature 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, making it worse in that respect versus the standard Radeon RX 7900 XT, which comes with 20 GB of VRAM. Sources also claim that the Golden Rabbit Edition features a lower Compute Unit count, meaning less than 84 CUs.

According to the news, the GPU specification of RX 7900GRE will be slightly lower than that of RX 7900 XT, which is 84CU. In terms of video memory, the RX 7900GRE may be equipped with 16GB 256bit GDDR6 video memory. In comparison, the RX 7900 XT has 20GB 320bit of video memory.

According to previous reports from IT House, the RX 7900 XT graphics card was released at the end of last year, with a starting price of 7399 yuan, and the current price of many models has dropped to 5699 yuan. The price of RX 7900GRE will be lower.
