Gal Gadot has revealed that she is going to develop a third Wonder Woman film with James Gunn and Peter Safran, the new Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios who were placed in charge last year to lead the new DC Universe and its upcoming slate of films and TV series. The news, which Gadot shared during an interview with ComicBook.com, follows reports from last year about how Patty Jenkins’ treatment for Wonder Woman 3 had been tossed out by the executives, as they wanted a fresh start to the new universe that they were building. There’s no news yet on what the new film will be about, but the implication here is that there is no one better to play Wonder Woman than Gadot.

Speaking to ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian for her new Netflix movie Heart of Stone before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Gadot said that, as she understands it, she will be developing Wonder Woman 3 together with Gunn and Safran. “I love portraying Wonder Woman,” Gadot says. “It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”
