Starfield players who want to see all of the game’s effects on PC may need to switch to something other than AMD graphics. According to a “Dear AMD Card User” post on the official Starfield subreddit that has been gaining traction, red team’s GPUs are failing to render local stars from any planet without an atmosphere in Bethesda’s new space-faring RPG, with one screenshot demonstrating how a system’s sun is completely absent on one of the game’s many moons when played on what is said to be Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics cards and other AMD products. Critics of AMD are calling this odd, with Starfield being an AMD-sponsored title.

Your game does NOT render the sun. There will be light and shadow effects, but you’re out of luck to ever see the sun, no matter the planet or moon with/without atmosphere.

This is likely to be a problem with ALL (Edit: SOME) newer AMD 6000 and 7000 Series cards. Unfortunately there’s yet to be alot of traction around this problem, probably because no one is really noticing.
