Synthetic System Benchmarks
We are going to start with synthetic system application benchmarks on this page. Note that the graphs are arranged from fastest to slowest. We have also highlighted the Intel Core i5-14600K for easy visualization. Keep in mind when looking at performance that the Ryzen 5 7600X is a 6-core/12-thread CPU, while the Ryzen 7 7700X is an 8-core/16-thread CPU in comparison to the 6 P-core+8 E-core/20-thread Intel Core i5-14600K.
PCMark 10
PCMark 10 Express
This benchmark focuses mainly on more lightly threaded office application types of workloads. Starting with the comparison to the Intel Core i5-13600K, the new Intel Core i5-14600K is only about 2% faster than the 13600K. This places it actually slightly under the Ryzen 5 7600X and Ryzen 7 7700X in this particular benchmark. Here, they are about 1% faster, so very close to be honest. This is not the norm though for other tests, as you’ll soon see.
Geekbench 6
In Geekbench 6 Multi-Core performance things are quite different indeed. When you are pushing more threads/cores the new Intel Core i5-14600K takes a commanding lead over the competition, including even the 8-core/16-thread Ryzen 7 7700X. First, the 14600K is only about 2% faster than the 13600K. However, when you compare that to the Ryzen 5 7600X it is 31% faster, and compared to the Ryzen 7 7700X it is 15% faster, both of these are significant differences.
This doesn’t exactly carry through to the single-core performance in Geekbench 6 however. The Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X beat the 14600K by about 4%. However, we do see that the new 14600K provides a 5% uplift over the 13600K, so that is notable.
3DMark CPU Profile
In 3DMark’s CPU Profile test, we are running the “Max Threads” test and looking at overall performance. We once again see the Intel Core i5-14600K dominating the competition here in max thread performance. The 14600K is 50% faster than the Ryzen 5 7600X which is quite a massive difference. Even compared to the Ryzen 7 7700X the 14600K is 19% faster, which is quite notable. Compared to the 13600K the 14600K is 3% faster.
In Single-Thread performance, we actually see the Intel Core i5-14600K coming out on top in this benchmark. Here the 14600K is 2% faster than the 13600K, but 6% faster than the 7600X and 3% faster than the 7700X.
