Rendering Performance
We will now take a look at how rendering performance compares.
Cinebench R23
Cinebench R23 shows the major advantage in Multi-Core performance the Intel Core i7-14700K has against the competition and the older 12th Gen Alder Lake CPU. The Intel Core i7-14700K is 23% faster than even the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-core CPU, which is a pretty significant difference in performance. When compared to the 12th Gen 12700K the new 14700K is 59% faster, which is a pretty major uplift from 12th Gen to 14th Gen for Multi-Core performance in Cinebench. Naturally, the 14700K blows the 7700X and 7800X3D out of the water at 82% and 99% faster respectively, just really eating them up on multi-core performance.
The Intel Core i7-14700K is no slouch in single-core performance in Cinebench either, at 7% faster than the Ryzen 9 7900X and 9% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X. Compared to the 12700K the 14700K is 14% faster, and we’ve been seeing this number a lot as it pertains to single-core performance advantage over the 12700K. The 14700K is 19% faster than the 7800X3D, which is pretty significant.
Blender Open Data Benchmark
The fast multi-core performance of the Intel Core i7-14700K is carried over in Blender, where it is 15% faster than the Ryzen 9 7900X and 58% faster than the 12700K. It’s also 72% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X and 79% faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
In Junkshop the Intel Core i7-14700K is 11% faster than the Ryzen 9 7900X and 58% faster than the 12700K. It’s 67% faster than the 7700X and 78% faster than the 7800X3D.
In the classroom scene, the Intel Core i7-14700K is 9% faster than the Ryzen 9 7900X and 57% faster than the 12700K. It’s 64% faster than the 7700X and 77% faster than the 7800X3D.
V-RAY 5 Benchmark
In V-Ray 5 the Intel Core i7-14700K remains faster than the Ryzen 9 7900X by 8% here. Compared to the 12700K it is 55% faster, which is pretty major, and compared to the 7700X it is 62% faster and it is 71% faster than the 7800X3D.
HandBrake
We are going to test HandBrake performance encoding a 10-minute video using H.264 on the CPU only. Remember, we are looking for the lowest time to encode here, the lowest result is the best one.
The clear winner on performance is the Intel Core i7-14700K, rendering our video in just 9.6 minutes. It ends up being 16% faster than the Ryzen 9 7900X and 38% faster than the 12700K. When compared to the 8-core 7700X it’s 41% faster and compared to the 7800X3D it’s 47% faster.
