ASUS has updated its website with the Turbo GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X, a custom version of NVIDIA’s mid-range Ada GPU for gamers that swaps out the usual open-air cooler with a blower design.

Per the listing, here are the key features of the new graphics card from ASUS, which, according to the manufacturer, will ” blow them away”:

  • Powered by NVIDIA DLSS3, ultra-efficient Ada Lovelace arch, and full ray tracing.
  • 4th Generation Tensor Cores: Up to 4x performance with DLSS 3 vs. brute-force rendering
  • 3rd Generation RT Cores: Up to 2X ray tracing performance
  • A redesigned shroud incorporates a raised edge to preserve air intake in cramped environments.
  • Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as conventional designs
  • Auto-Extreme precision automated manufacturing for higher reliability
  • GPU Tweak III software provides intuitive performance tweaking, thermal controls, and system monitoring

The tech specs for the Turbo GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X are showing a 2,475 MHz engine clock, putting it closely in line with NVIDIA’s reference GPU, which is listed with a 2.48 GHz boost clock on the official GeForce website.

And here’s what ASUS had to add about the card, which has been redesigned for environments with restricted airflow:

The ASUS Turbo GeForce RTX 4070 12GB is designed from the ground up for systems with restricted airflow. With an emphasis on durability and longevity, the Turbo incorporates a host of subtle design optimizations that will improve airflow and increase reliability, even in cramped quarters.

The Turbo features a new shroud that’s designed to look sharp while optimizing cooling on several fronts. Parts of the shroud surrounding the fan intake have been raised to create a buffer between other cards in multi-gpu setups and space-restricted chassis. This physical buffer is paired with an angled shroud surface that funnels cool air to a large 80mm fan to ensure Turing’s thermals remain under control in any scenario.

According to ASUS’ search function, the Turbo GeForce RTX 4070 12GB is the very first Turbo card in the GeForce RTX 40 Series family.

Some of ASUS’ older Turbo cards include the Turbo GeForce RTX 3070 and Turbo GeForce RTX 3080 V2, an Ampere card that also features an 80 mm blower fan.
