GIGABYTE has listed the GC-WIFI7, a new add-in card for customers who are eager to update their systems with Wi-Fi 7, a new generation of the wireless network protocol that features double the throughput for even faster speeds.

According to GIGABYTE’s marketing materials, the GC-WIFI7 offers a pretty dramatic speed boost versus the previous generation of Wi-Fi, with one chart showing speeds of up to 5,800 Mbps for Wi-Fi 7—3,400 Mbps faster than Wi-Fi 6E:

Here’s a breakdown of the GC-WIFI7’s features, which notes Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility and support for 320 MHz channels, a key feature of Wi-Fi 7:

  • Built-in Wi-Fi 7 module
  • Supports high-speed wireless connections of up to 5800Mbps
  • Offers up to 320MHz bandwidth support across the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands
  • MLO (Multi-Link Operation) enables simultaneous connections on two bands
  • MRU (Multiple RU) enhances interference mitigation and OFDMA efficiency
  • 4K-QAM allows for higher transmission rates, resulting in increased efficiency
  • Bluetooth 5.3 Compatible
  • Supports MU-MIMO TX/RX
  • Complies with IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards
  • Equipped with an ultra-high gain 2Tx2R antenna, supporting both directional and omnidirectional signals
  • PCIe x1 Interface Card

And here’s what GIGABYTE had to add about those features:

  • 320/160 MHz channels
    • Wi-Fi 7 supports up to 320 MHz channels, providing a significant increase in bandwidth for faster data rates.
  • Multi-link Operation
    • With MLO(Multi-Link Operation) technology, you can allocate the 2.4GHz band for streaming and the 5/6GHz band for gaming, resulting in a higher quality network experience with fewer interruptions.
  • 4K-QAM
    • With 4K-QAM technology, Wi-Fi 7 improves data throughput, resulting in faster file transfers and seamless streaming.
  • Deterministic low latency
    • Deterministic low latency ensures minimal delays, making it ideal for real-time applications like video conferencing and online gaming.
  • GIGABYTE Ultra-high Gain Antenna
    • Experience enhanced signal strength with the GIGABYTE Ultra-high gain Antenna, which incorporates a smart antenna function to optimize Wi-Fi signal transmission.

“Wi-Fi 7 provides significant benefits to the realm of virtual reality (VR),” GIGABYTE said. “With its high bandwidth and low latency capabilities, Wi-Fi 7 ensures a smooth and immersive VR experience.”
